Pindahkan daging ayam ke dalam panci. Masukan bumbu halus, daun salam, lengkuas, kaldu jamur, kecap manis, dan air. Aduk rata. Taruh di atas kompor lalu masak menggunakan api sedang hingga airnya menyusut dan daging ayam empuk. Angkat dan tiriskan. Bakar satu persatu ayam di atas bara api sambil sesekali diolesi sisa bumbu supaya lebih meresap.
